Our vision for New Amsterdam’s future is strong. Our community in the Lower East Side is clear in its need of high quality nursery and daycare programs, and we are ready to meet this need.

Join us in realizing the vision for the future at New Amsterdam School!

Under our new leadership and Board of Trustees, there is a bright spark, an impetus to rebuild New Amsterdam School and regrow even stronger as a Waldorf early childhood center, the first of its kind in New York City. In order to reach this goal, collectively, we need to raise $300,000 by June 30th, 2024.

We have been given an incredible opportunity to realize our vision for the school. Meeting this opportunity will allow us to remain in our beloved home at 62 Avenue B, launch our early childhood center, and put New Amsterdam School on a path for a sustainable future, and we need your help.

An Angel benefactor has committed to a $150,000 loan for our school.

This loan is forgivable, to the extent that it is matched by additional fundraising from our school community. When we raise $150,000 to match these funds between March 30th and June 30th, 2024, the $150,000 loan from our benefactor becomes a gift. With $300,000, New Amsterdam School will have the funds required to realize our vision. We are asking everyone to give as generously as possible now. No amount is too small, nor too large.

Our vision for New Amsterdam’s future is strong. Our community in the Lower East Side is in need of high quality nursery and daycare programs, and we are ready to meet this need. While continuing to offer our quality pre-k and kindergarten programs, we are excited to extend our warm and nurturing care to younger children and families through our new Dogwood Nursery Program (18-36 months), opening in April 2024. For the 2024/2025 school year, we have lowered tuition, extended care hours, all in order to support this need.

Meeting our goal will allow New Amsterdam to offer our exceptional early childhood care programs to as many children and families as possible, for years to come. This is an opportunity for you to invest in something you really believe in: the creation of a complete and unparalleled early childhood education for our community, and a more sustainable future for our school!
